What a guild is

A course teaches you. A guild makes you the employee they want to hire.

Most training hands you a video and hopes you finish. Almost nobody does, and the ones who do still can't prove they can do the job. A guild is the older, better idea: a mentor to train you, a chapter to keep you moving, and a rank you earn by producing real work. That is how we turn out people employers compete for, and why our credential is one you can't cram, can't fake, and won't quit.

You join a chapter

You start alongside a cohort on a shared cadence, not a lonely self-paced drip, with an accountability partner at your side. Cohorts finish where solo courses stall. A guild does not let its apprentices quietly drift away.

A mentor trains you

Every apprentice is paired with a ranking member who mentors them through. Helping the next person up is how you earn standing here, so the guild lifts beginners instead of heckling them for asking.

You earn your rank

You advance by producing a masterwork: a live system broken or defended, in your own words, reviewed by the guild. It is the inspectable proof employers ask for, and the reason no one fakes their way up.

Underneath the guild is a real school. Five structured tracks, taught to the security frameworks employers screen for, with written lessons, hands-on labs, and graded assessments at every rank. The guild is how you are carried through it. The curriculum is what you actually learn.
Why we built it this way

In AI security, a stack of certs is a red flag. Proof is the green one.

Hiring managers in this field have seen a thousand certificates and trust almost none of them. What earns a second look is work they can open and check themselves: the exploit you wrote, the defense you built, the rank you earned for it. Guild Cyber is built to produce exactly that, on a record that is yours to show.

A hard, proctored, practical credential with a deliberately low pass rate. Its name, its difficulty, and the way you earn it are all separate from the everyday marks. This is the one built to carry real weight over time.

We keep the two apart on purpose. The on-ramp is free and easy to share. The Seal is scarce and has to be earned. The prestige only builds if the two never blur together.

Why we built this

I watched good people finish a pile of courses and still get filtered out before a human read their name, because a certificate cannot prove you can do the work. And I watched even more people never finish at all, alone with a video at midnight after a full day. So we built the opposite. A place that trains you like a craft, refuses to let you quit, and hands you proof an employer can actually open. Not another certificate to collect. A guild that makes you the person they want to hire.

Good to know

Do I need experience to start?
No. The first challenge is built for someone who has never done this before. You work in your browser, there is nothing to install, and the early puzzles walk you through the ideas as you go.
Is a Guild Mark the same as the Guild Seal?
No, and that is on purpose. Guild Marks are the free, shareable micro-credentials you earn as you learn. The Guild Seal is a separate, much harder, proctored credential earned only after mastery. Different name, different difficulty, different way of earning it.
Why lead with offense and AI red-teaming?
It is the newest role in the field, so rankings matter more than years of experience, and it is the most fun to watch. Breaking a model in a browser and sharing the result is the most natural on-ramp we could build.
Is this real coursework, or just challenges?
Both, and in that order. Behind every challenge is a structured curriculum: written lessons that teach the concept, hands-on labs where you apply it against real systems, and a graded assessment at each rank. Five tracks, taught to the frameworks employers screen for. The challenges are how you prove what the coursework taught you.
Will employers actually trust this?
That is the whole design. Instead of a certificate they cannot verify, an employer gets a public record of the exact work you did and the rank you earned for it. Provable work is what this field hires on.
What does it cost?
The on-ramp is free to start. Founding members who join early earn the first marks and keep their leaderboard standing as the guild grows.
